Overview
If you have lost your personal ID card, i.e. it cannot be found, has been misplaced or has been stolen, the holder has the duty to immediately report the loss and any subsequent re-finding of the card to the ID card authorities.
If you have activated the online identification function, you must block this immediately in the event of theft or loss of your card. Blocking the card will ensure that any misuse will be recognised immediately; see “Electronic proof of identity; blocking” (Service description in Hesse Finder)
